AI Document Importer
The AI Document Importer lets you upload your tax documents directly and, with full access, review the extracted information yourself before it's added to your account — or hand that review over to your accountant if you'd rather they checked it first.
From your software dashboard, select Document Importer from the left-hand menu.
This opens the Document Importer in a new browser tab.
A “bundle” is simply a batch of documents you're uploading together — for example, all your July paperwork.
Select Create new bundle.
Give the bundle a name you'll recognise later (e.g. “July documents”).
Check the tax year is correct.
Optional: add any notes that might help — for example, anything unusual about this batch of documents.
Select Create.
Drag and drop your documents into the upload area, or select Browse files.
Accepted file types are PDF and images (JPG, PNG). CSV, Word, and RTF files aren't currently supported.
Note: If you're uploading a photo of a document, make sure it's a clear, full, front-on image. Angled or partial photos may not be read correctly.
Assigning a Business Source
For each document, you'll need to tell us where it belongs. This helps our AI put the information in the right place. Use the table below as a guide:
If every document in this batch belongs to the same source, untick Select Individually to apply one source to all of them at once. Otherwise, choose a source for each document individually from the dropdown.
Once every document has a source assigned, select Upload.
If you selected the wrong business source for a document, don't worry — you can fix it before it's imported:
Go back into the bundle.
Delete the document using the red bin icon next to it.
Re-upload the document and assign it to the correct business source.
The document will then be re-analysed with the correct source applied. Documents can't have their source changed after upload — they need to be removed and re-added.
Once uploaded, your documents move to Analysing while our AI reads them — this generally takes about a minute per document, depending on its size. Once ready, they'll move to the To Review tab.
From here, you have two options:
Select Start review to go through each document.
You'll see a preview of the document alongside the information our AI has extracted from it.
Check the details are correct, editing anything that needs it.
Select Accept Doc if it's correct (or Accept All if you're happy with everything), or Save to come back to it later.
If a document isn't relevant after all, select Discard Doc.
Once every document is Accepted or Discarded, return to the bundle overview and select Import Bundle to send the information into your Record Keeping or Tax Return.
If you'd rather your accountant checked things over first, select Request agent review instead of reviewing it yourself. This notifies your accountant on their Document Importer dashboard, and they'll review and import the documents on your behalf.
Large bank statements (more than 4 pages) are best assigned as Uncategorised rather than to a specific business.
You can start reviewing documents while others are still being analysed — you don't need to wait for the whole batch.
This tool currently supports documents for the 2025–26 tax year, with support for 2026–27 documents being refined.
